Hinchinbrook Island

Hinchinbrook Island was my grandfather's favourite part of the Queensland coast when he was chief engineer of a coastal steamer, the Bingera. This is also my favourite place when travelling North. Though its dances with blue are glorious, I love its mystery in all weathers, including a few days at anchor once by its mangroves waiting for heavy fog to lift.Great Barrier Reef Conservation Reserve, Cardwell, Queensland | 11th May, 2018
